Ashley Benson Claims 'Pretty Little Liars' Posters Were Photoshopped And WOAH
For seven long years (emphasis on the long), the girls of Pretty Little Liars have been our hair, style, fash, beauty and everything in between muses.
Every season we looked forward to those ~iconic~ promo posters that were always more fierce and fire than the last and became our EVERYTHING goals.
So we're totally shook to report to you that these posters were 3000% photoshopped.
In a tell-all interview with Stylecaster, the IRL Hanna Marin Ashley Benson opened up about the heavy editing that went into the promo posters.
"PLL had put up this poster and it was from our first season and it was completely crazy," she said. "Nobody looked like themselves."
She went on to drag the entertainment industry for heavily photoshopping literally everything.
"Even for magazine covers, they’ll photoshop out a mole, make your boobs bigger or your waist four sizes smaller, and you’re like, 'That’s not even me,'" she said.
"You never know how it’s going to turn out because you have no control and you’re not editing the photos, but it sucks when you’re like, 'Wow. That’s a completely different person.'"
She concludes: "I always make sure to tell people, with any sh*t that I do or anyone else does, that unless it’s announced that it’s not photoshopped, it’s photoshopped."
"And don’t get down on yourself for not looking a certain way because it takes a lot of hair and makeup, a ton of good lighting, and after the shoot, it’s all this editing."
While it's no real shock that Hollywood edits and photoshops a lot of what we see, it's always a necessary wake up call when celebs speak out about it.
