We've got emojis for every human emotion, (almost) every body part, heck we even have a poop emoji, yet no period emoji?
Well, that could soon change!
Plan International, a non-profit organisation that raises awareness for women's menstruation have started a petition to have a period emoji added in the next drop of emojis.
The organisation's CEO, Susanne Legena told Pedestrian.tv that adding a period emoji will take away the negative stigma associated with the perfectly natural act of getting our periods.
"Every month, hundreds of millions of women and girls around Australia menstruate," she said.
"The average woman menstruates for 3000 days during her lifetime.
"It's a normal biological process, but there is still this strange belief, even here in Australia, that menstruation is secret women's business.
"We suffer our periods in silence and hide our pads and tampons away as if they were contraband.
"Even though at least 800 million women and girls between the ages of 15 and 49 are menstruating right now, there isn't a single emoji to represent periods.
"Isn't it ridiculous that there's a long nose goblin emoji and a floppy disc emoji, but no period emoji?
"We want people to change that by voting for their favourite period emoji design which we will then present to the Unicode Consortium in California."
The charity has created five designs and people can vote for their fave emoji.
The most-voted emoji will be submitted to the Unicode Consortium (AKA the emoji committee) to decide if it will go ahead.
We are so here for this empowering new addition!
