It has been estimated that the show, which includes performances from Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus, will bring in over 2.5 million dollars, with all proceeds going to the victims and their families of the Manchester attack.
Unfortunately, the high demand of tickets have meant that scalpers are attempting to re-sell tickets for what could be TEN times more than the original price.
Tickets originally cost 40 pounds, which is about $70AUD.
One screenshot (which has now been deleted) showed that a pair of tickets are being resold for 800 pounds ($1,396AUD). UM, sooo not the time for this...
That's not the only issue either. Apparently, free tickets were meant to be given to all people who went to the original concert in Manchester, but according to The Guardian, fans who purchased their original tickets are having issues claiming their free benefit concert tickets. Ticketmaster can't validate their original purchase.
Le sigh.
One fan wrote, "My tickets were originally bought by a travel company specialising in music event travels. I paid 100 pounds for a 45 pound ticket on Viagogo. These companies can claim these tickets they are not entitled to, and resell them all over again."
A spokesperson for Ticketmaster has released the following statement:
"With over 450,000 searches on our site for One Love Manchester over the last 24 hours, demand was always going to be extremely high. We are happy to report that there are thousands of fans who successfully purchased tickets during the general sale."
