Rumours of a Gossip Girl movie have been doing the rounds lately but we can now confirm that it was nothing more than, excuse the pun, gossip.
Despite the National Enquirer's reports that the "actors behind the Upper East Side crew are pushing for a movie reboot," Gossip Cop's sources have denied said claims.
"Gossip Cop is told by sources involved with the original series that 'everyone is doing their own thing' and the 'timing isn't ripe; [the story] is not right,'" the site reported.
And to make matters even worse, Chuck Bass himself debunked the claims.
"Nah, that's not gonna happen," Ed Westwick told Radio Times.
"I hear they're doing Will and Grace, they've done Gilmore Girls. But it's such a strange thing to think about... It feels like we only just finished! And I haven't done enough in between yet to feel like I could comfortably revisit it. And I did so much with that character – it's played out, man. It's done."
Okay, this has been a devastating blow... but don't lose hope, Upper East Siders.
We have confirmation that Leighton Meester (Blair), Chace Crawford (Nate), and Jessica Szohr are "on board", so it's only a matter of time until the others decide to reunite.
Keep your fingers crossed and your Google alerts on!
xoxo, Girlfriend.
