The singing sensation who rose to fame after her Britain's Got Talent audition in 2009 has had stones thrown at her, as well as burning paper, The Mirror reports.
“Another time 10-15 of them were surrounding and throwing stuff,” one witness said. “They lit a piece of paper and threw it at her face.”
Another person told the publication that they had seen Boyle, 56, hiding on a bus whilst the boys aged 16-18 threw stones at the vehicle.
The Scottish singer has also been the victim of verbal abuse.
“I was going inside the Mill Centre, Susan was walking out and they were all standing at the entrance and they said to her ‘why don’t you get yourself a pair of glasses you ugly, old thing.’ It’s horrendous,” one witness told The Mirror.
A spokesperson for the singer, who has been diagnosed with Asperger syndrome, have confirmed that they are contacting police to ensure Boyle's safety.
However, the singer isn't the only local under attack.
"While I was waiting at the bus they lobbed a glass bottle at my head. Luckily, it missed – it would have been painful if it had hit me," one person told The Mirror.
"I’ve called the police 15 times. I’ve had to speak to victim support, I’ve had to call helplines because I’ve felt suicidal."
