In a cute makeup-free selfie series, Winter showed off her newly blonde hair and some freckles across her nose and cheeks. "Kindness is not that hard!!!!!" she wrote in the caption, referring to her grey sweatshirt. "Also...quarantine is bringing out my freckles?!????"
At a quick glance, you might have thought they were part of a very subtle Instagram filter—fake freckles are one of the defining beauty trends of the IG era. However, much to apparent Winter's surprise, these freckles are the real deal.
Much like her new blonde locks, fans also embraced Winter's new freckled and makeup-free look. "I love both of those things," wrote one user, "kindness and your super cute frecks."
While it's likely Winter's freckles have become a little more prominent because of more time in the U.S. summer sun, that doesn't mean you should sit outside sans SPF to achieve the same thing. If you're keen to experiment with freckles yourself, beyond just a handy filter that is, we'd go down the makeup route. Still cute, way less sun damage!
As for being kind and doing your bit to make the world a better and more just place? We'd suggest looking into more ways to support the Black Lives Matter movement and the plight of Indigenous people in Australia. Winter's shared her own resources and suggested a list of people to follow as well.
