Initially working as a property analyst, the 25-year-old Chatfield has pivoted her Bachelor fame into becoming a social media success story. On her Instagram, she shares the usual things, at least according to her bio: “millennial thirst traps/real life.” Take a bit of a deeper dig though, and you’ll find messages of self-acceptance, body and sex positivity, and frank discussions about sexism, double standards around gender, and impassioned responses to the frankly horrific abuse that’s thrown her way online.
Unfortunately, just the mere fact alone that Chatfield is an intelligent, opinionated woman who dares to open her mouth while in the public eye is enough to attract online social media trolls and negative attention from tabloids. Add to that she actively shuts down sexism and sexist comments when they’re levelled at her? And talks openly about her mental health, advocates for masturbation and—quite rightly—dresses and shares images of her body how she wants? Apparently a recipe for hatred.
Thankfully, there are those who realise the value of someone accessible, relatable and honest sharing their own personal experiences. In her podcast It’s A Lot (which has been downloaded 1.6 million times since it’s launched in March 2020), Chatfield candidly discusses the kinda things that normally stay within the sacred space of the group chat or a hang with your closest friends. Think frank chats about feminism, queer issues, vulnerable discussions of her anxiety about being back on TV, and useful sex and dating tips? If you haven’t given it a listen yet, you know what to do.
Below, we round up some of the things you might not know about Chatfield (not everything can be found out from an Instagram deep dive after all) and keep up with the woman who is so much more than an ex-Bachie star.

Abbie Chatfield's boyfriend
Look, we guess if appearing on The Bachelor certifies one thing, it’s this: people are probably gonna be quite curious about who you eventually end up dating and in a relationship with. And we all know it wasn't Matt Agnew.
From some very sweet Instagram Story updates and, of course, the Instagram grid post, many people speculated last year that Chatfield was dating Australian TV and radio presenter Danny Clayton.
The 34-year-old Clayton and 25-year-old Chatfield were met with pretty much all love when she ‘officially debuted’ them. (Peep the cute “mum and dad” comments.)
Chatfield also joked about her Bachelor roots in her Instagram story featuring Clayton. At her friend’s wedding, the pair jokingly posed with Clayton handing Chatfield a single red rose, probably plucked a second ago from the table’s cute flower arrangement.
She also revealed in her Instagram Story that, in a full-circle moment, she actually had a crush on the TV presenter when she was nine!
However, she went on to set the record straight and confirm the pair were not an official ~thing~. “Everyone, Danny is not my boyfriend just an FYI,” she said. “I uploaded a photo of him at an event together. Like, I called him my boyfriend, where?”
“Guys honestly, I love that you support me being with someone but nobody can lock this down just yet,” she added in her story clarifying the confusion.
Given the fact that Chatfield has previously mentioned how, uh, well-endowed Clayton is in trouser department before, we imagine the pair are just a regular pair of people who get intimate without putting a label on things. (Alright, for those wondering: “It's so big. It's f****d... His d**k is comical. It's comical,” she told the Too Much Tully podcast co-hosts Tully Smyth and Jess Lucas.)
That said, in a recent interview with Body + Soul Chatfield has mentioned that she’s open to a boyfriend in the future. “I just want to settle down and not have such a crazy love life,” she shared. “I’d like to meet a stable guy who’s either a Taurian, Libran, Leo or Sagittarian; definitely not a Capricorn.”
Look, given her recent TikTok in which she says she’s cried over three separate dudes in a day, we’re wishing her luck!
