Malaysia, a mainly Muslim country, has two main cinema chains which were due to start screening it on Thursday, but they said the film had been postponed indefinitely and no reason was given.
According to Film Censorship Board Chairman Abdul Halim Abdul Hamid, he doesn't know why Disney cancelled the release since the movie had been approved by the board after a "gay moment" was axed.
"We have approved it but there is a minor cut involving a gay moment," he told The Associated Press. "It is only one short scene but it is inappropriate because many children will be watching this movie."

Apparently Disney didn't appeal the the board's decision to gut the gay scene and they're saying the film's release was postponed for "internal review."
Maybe they didn't like their movie being tampered with, and for good reason! What kind of message does this send to young LGBTIQ+ people who are struggling to come to terms with their sexuality?!
Speaking of how ridiculous all the outrage over LeFou's crush on Gaston (Luke Evans) is, Ewan McGregor, who plays Lumière, just mocked all the haters in a new interview with The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
"There’s a lot of gay sex in it. There’s a LOT of gay sex in this cartoon," the actor joked. "It’s just like: He IS a gay character. It’s 2017, for f**k’s sake!"
Meanwhile over in Russia, after considering a nationwide ban on Beauty and the Beast due to their strict gay propaganda laws, the country has now approved the movie but banned children under 16 from watching it. Still very disappointing but at least it hasn't been completely banned.
