As we know from the previous episode, Jughead's dad F.P has been framed for Jason's murder. But, Betty and Archie know that the gun was planted in his home.
He didn't do it, but he's also not innocent. BUT, more on that later...
Remember how Hal Cooper stole all that information from Sherrif Keller's office? WELL, turns out he didn't want the investigation to uncover that the Cooper's are related to the Blossom's. Yep.
Hal's grandfather was brother's with Clifford Blossom's grandfather, who actually murdered him, so the family severed ties and took the Cooper name.
It also means that Polly Cooper and Jason Blossom are THIRD COUSINS. GROSS.
"You were disgusted that Jason and Polly were dating because they were related!" Alice Cooper yells at Hal. Same, really.
Anyway, they realise they need to save Polly from Thornhill.
Later in the episode, Polly finds a disc drive in Jason's jacket. This is when we find out the killer.
As she and the rest of the gang huddle around a laptop, they see Jason tied to a chair in a bar on the south side of Riverdale. It is then that Clifford Blossom takes the engagement ring Jason was going to give Polly away from him, and shoots his own son in the forehead.
Yep. Clifford is the killer. Wow. But it doesn't end there...
So why was F.P. framed? Well, turns out Clifford threatened to hurt Jughead unless F.P. admitted to the murder. We also see in this episode he and Joaquin, Kevin's boyfriend, putting Jason's dead body in a freezer.
When the Sheriff and the team arrive at Thornhill to arrest Clifford, they find he has hung himself inside the Maple Syrup barn.
But did he kill himself? Or was it just set up?
There is still one more episode to go, so maybe we will get more answers. 'Til then, enjoy this jam-packed episode TONIGHT on Netflix.
