While she has now made her exit from paradise, before the first rose ceremony Chatfield took to Instagram to promote the episode and check in with her fans. "First rose ceremony in @bachelorinparadiseau ! Thoughts, feelings, emotions on last night?" the 25-year-old wrote.
While most people were supportive, there were, of course, the few people who couldn't bear the idea that Chatfield should openly pursue people she was interested in. "Thoughts, stop acting so desperate, it just turns guys off," wrote one commenter.
"I’m always honest with people if I like them, and honest if I don’t," replied Chatfield. "I don’t play games to trick people into liking me because of attention or lack thereof. I’m on horny island, let me be." She's right and she should say it.
How many seasons of Bachelor In Paradise do you need to watch before it becomes clear this is literally The Hunger Games of trying to hook up and potentially spark a connection with someone? And that people shouldn't be shamed for confidently doing exactly what they're supposed to?
Another user agreed with the original commenter, saying it was like The Bachelor all over again. "Oh god forbid I have genuine feelings for Matt (the bachelor in question) and want to express those feelings via making out or telling him," Chatfield wrote back.
In a series of IG story posts, Chatfield also shared the vocal support and condemnation of slut-shaming that flooded Twitter.
She also noted that strippers and sex workers—who she's often compared to in an attempt to shame her—deserve the same respect and support as literally anyone else.
Despite her swift exit from Bachelor In Paradise, Chatfield doesn't seem to be missing the sun and sand. In another story she posted while enjoying a night out, a friend asks Chatfield what her biggest regret from Bachelor In Paradise was. Without missing a beat, Chatfield grimaces and says, "Arriving."
Your favs could literally never. Anyway, have some taste and stan Abbie Chatfield.
